THE EXPANDED THIRD EDITION IS OUT AND READY TO SHIP!
The third edition of "Rock & Roll Tour of the Jersey Shore," written by Stan Goldstein and Jean Mikle, has been published and orders are now being accepted.
The book is highly recommended for those who have ever wondered what sites to see when they make that pilgrimage to Bruce Springsteen's Jersey Shore.
This revised edition, published in June of 2008, is 202 pages with more than 500 photos of Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny and many others who made their mark on the Asbury Park area music scene over the years.
The book details close to 200 locations of historical rock 'n' roll sites in New Jersey's Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties - including Springsteen-related clubs, houses, street corners and other landmarks in Asbury Park, Freehold, Long Branch, Red Bank and beyond.
More than 40 locations are listed for Asbury Park and 30 for Freehold, all well-annotated with maps, addresses and loads of history.
There are vignettes from fans about their local encounters with Springsteen over the years, as well as an in-depth look at rehearsals for his world tours the past 10 years at Asbury Park's Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre. Plus a feature on Rascal Flatts filming their "Feels Like Today" video in Asbury Park in July of 2004.
The third edition features photos, many never before published, from top photographers Debra L. Rothenberg, Mark R. Sullivan, Lewis Bloom, John Cavanaugh and others.
Stan and Jean are lifelong New Jersey residents who have witnessed much of the Jersey Shore's rock 'n' roll history over the past 30-plus years. They have given walking tours of Springsteen sites to thousands of fans since 1999.
The first two editions of their book, "Rock & Roll Tour of the Jersey Shore" published in 2002 (64 pages) and 2005 (146 pages), sold out and are no longer available.
