Stan Goldstein and Jean Mikle will be signing copies of the new fourth edition of "Rock & Roll Tour of the Jersey Shore" on Thursday, Dec. 19, 7 to 10 p.m., at the Where Music Lives Gallery, 708 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park. Stan and Jean will give a short talk about the book, a media presentation, and take any questions before the signing.

The new fourth edition of "Rock & Roll Tour of the Jersey Shore" by Stan Goldstein and Jean Mikle is now available.

The 200-page edition is your guide and map of the sites Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny and many others made famous (or not so famous) at the New Jersey Shore. It has more than 600 photos, new features and updated listings.

The book (it was last published in 2008) provides details about more than 175 historical music sites that should be part of any music fan's pilgrimage to the Jersey Shore. Included are clubs, homes, stores, street corners and other landmarks in Asbury Park, Freehold, Long Branch, Red Bank and beyond in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties that are connected to Springsteen and other Jersey Shore music legends.

More than 40 locations are listed for Asbury Park and 35 for Freehold, all annotated with maps, and include detailed historical information.

There's also a look back at many of the local bands who are known for the "Sound of Asbury Park."

Among the new features are:

* Seventeen places Springsteen has performed in Asbury Park since 1968 as well as where he has filmed several music videos and even did a book signing.
* A look at 12 movies filmed in Asbury Park starring such great actors as Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Woody Allen and Mickey Rourke.
*A special Sunday night in July 2011 when Springsteen played at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, his first public performance after the passing of Clarence Clemons.
* A first-person report of being an extra in Springsteen's "We Take Care of Our Own" video filmed on Mattison Avenue in Asbury Park in January of 2012.
* Sixteen places Springsteen has lived at the Jersey Shore prior to 1983.
* Remembering Asbury Park's legendary West Side music scene.
* Longtime Jersey Shore DJ Jeff Raspe reflects on his favorite shows over the years.
* President Obama's visit to the Asbury Park boardwalk in May of 2013.
* Superstorm Sandy's impact on the Jersey Shore and its music scene.
* Sixteen full pages of color photos.

Plus much more.

The book is available through www.njrockmap.com. Books will be available for purchase the first week of December at Comfort Zone, 44 Main Ave., Ocean Grove, NJ; the Asbury Galleria in the Grand Arcade of Asbury Park's Convention Hall, the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, and at Shore Chic, 50 English Plaza, Red Bank, NJ.

The previous three editions of "Rock & Roll Tour of the Jersey Shore" (2002, 2005 and 2008) have all sold out. Goldstein and Mikle are lifelong New Jersey residents who have witnessed much of the Jersey Shore's rock 'n' roll history over the past 35-plus years. They have given walking tours of Springsteen sites to thousands of fans since 1999.
